Abundant wildlife is one of the many benefits we enjoy living here in Wyoming.  However, wildlife and human conflicts can be a problem. Often these conflicts result from hungry wildlife looking for dinner in town.  From rabbits and deer, to coyotes, mountain lions, bears, and more.  Depending on where you live you probably see some of these critters nearby homes.

Dogs and cats can fall prey to hungry predators.  Keeping them in at night and feeding them inside will help prevent Sparky from being invited to lunch, as the main course. Even deer can be a threat, especially to dogs which they view as a predator.  If you live in an area with mountain lions or bears be sure and watch yourself and children.  While attacks are quite rare they can happen.

Remember wildlife are best observed from a distance. And be careful not to leave attractants out such as garbage, tasty plants, or pet foods.  In most cases human/wildlife conflicts can be avoided or minimized by a few careful precautions. From the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service, I’m Barton Stam.
